The current exhibit at the Portuguese Historical Museum is titled “Portuguese Americans in California: Ranching, Farming, and Fishing.” This exhibit explores the contributions of Portuguese Americans to the state of California through the lens of ranching, farming, and fishing. The exhibit includes a variety of artifacts, photos, and documents that tell the story of the Portuguese American experience in California.

They will be hosting a lecture series on the history of Portuguese immigration to America. This series will take place on three consecutive Thursdays in March. On March 7th, Dr. Maria do Mar Gago will speak on “Portuguese Immigration to America before 1820.” On March 14th, Dr. Nuno da Silva will speak on “Portuguese Immigration to America from 1820-1870.” On March 21st, Dr. Jorge Santos Simões will speak on “Portuguese Immigration to America from 1870-1920.” These lectures are free and open to the public.
